who is camila bleu? my name is juanita saenz but my friends call me "jayni". i am the designer and owner of camila bleu. my family and i live in mission, texas. why the name camila bleu? camila is the name of my daughter. bleu is a name i got from another name I liked, elijah blu, except i spell blu differently. a little something about my work... i work from my home studio. my pieces are created here with my own two hands, oh yeah, and a couple of tools! i like to create eclectic designs using fused glass, metal, wire, mixed media, recycled, etc! i love to create unique, "outside the box" pieces! i am inspired by different things, whether it be a sign i see on the road or something i see in nature. i love to think. something else you might not know about me... when i am not at my full-time job, working in my studio, or spending time with my family, i volunteer my time to community service. i have been doing this for about 20 years. i currently volunteer with the American Red Cross as a disaster service responder and i am also a certified child passenger safety technician. as a cps tech, my responsibility is to educate parents about the use and installation of child safety seats. even before i had kids of my own, i've always been an advocate of seatbelts and child car seats. i am currently a member of MANA de Hidalgo County, a wonderful organization which promotes the role of women in the community. it was actually thru MANA that I obtained my cps tech certification. it was also thru MANA that i was selected to attend the AVANZAMOS Ford Fellowship Program in washington dc; it was a incredible experience being able to train at the Gallup Organization as well as meeting new friends from other parts of the nation! are you involved in your community? there are so many wonderful organizations out there! give it a try! check out my links page. thank you for visiting my website!
